Black Mesa Winery is located in scenic northern New Mexico on the main highway between Santa Fe and Taos (El Camino Real). The historic setting serves as a backdrop for revitalization of the major New Mexican Wineries and vineyards which were prominent here for almost 400 years. Black Mesa's fancifully named wines, including Coyote, Antelope, Conejito White and Black Beauty, are blends recognized both locally and internationally. Varietal wines produced include Chardonnay, Riesling, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Syrah, and Zinfandel. Lynda and Jerry Burd create New Mexico wines that reflect the characteristics of the surrounding New Mexico countryside. Visitors are welcome all year. Open daily from 10am to 6pm (Sundays from noon to 6pm).
There is plenty of RV parking! Lynda and Jerry Burd, the new owners, continue to make wines in the tradition of the winery founders, Gary and Connie Anderson. Before moving to Santa Fe, Jerry apprenticed under Rob Mommsen, the wine maker at Bellefountain Cellars in Corvallis, Oregon.
