Hermann J. Wiemer is regarded as one of the pioneers of viticulture and winemaking in the Finger Lakes. Hermann J. Wiemer Vineyard estate grown wines are established from traditions of excellence and have a nationwide reputation for creating exceptionally lush, crisp and well-balanced wines.
Located in the heart of the Finger Lakes, the vineyard is just one hour south of the Canadian border in the eastern part of the US, on Seneca Lake’s west bank. Our winery, which produces approximately 12,000 cases each year, was designed in 1982 by an award winning team of Cornell architects. Enclosed within the shell of a seventy-year-old scissor-trussed barn, it accommodates a full wine production area, tasting facility. Its unique white cathedral-like interior counterpoints the bare wooden walls and sleek Italian stainless steel tanks.
Our processes pay homage to the ancient winemaking tradition of Hermann's ancestry while incorporating the best of modern practices. |
