Bell Wine Cellars is committed to handcrafting limited edition bottlings of extraordinary wines that reflect the terroir of their vineyards and the care and passion of their growers.
In California we are blessed with a great variety of microclimates, each capable of producing grapes of extraordinary quality and style. I seek out these individual vineyards with their unique microclimates, and working closely with the winegrower, strive to optimize the fullest potential of each property. from the appellations of Rutherford, Mount Veeder and Yountville in the heart of the Napa Valley, to the Lake County north of us, and the hot Sierra foothills to the east, each vineyard I purchase grapes from is blessed with a singular terroir. Displaying exquisite balance and produced in very small lots, each varietal displays the distinct flavor and personality by the particular growing conditions nurturing each vine - a true sense of place. -Anthony Bell, proprietor and winemaker If you like to be in the middle of things, come taste our current releases in our tank room, between the towers of stainless steel. Would you enjoy a bit of relaxed education? Take the Grape to Glass tour and make yourself at home in our glass-enclosed reserve room after a walk through the Merlot and Chardonnay vineyard adjacent to our winery. See the barrels we use and understand why we use them. Taste young, up-and-coming Cabernet out of the barrel, and then appreciate what magic time can do, tasting finished wines with artisan cheeses. Are you a true Cabernet-phile? Our clonal blending seminar would appeal to your inner winemaker. These days, Anthony utilizes his 35 years of winemaking passion simply to make wines we love to drink. Come by for the perfect tasting that share both our rich Napa background and exquisite wines - we think you'll agree.
Our tour guide Victoria was very aggressive and not welcoming. Questions were asked and answered in a dismissive manner.
Great experience learning about the history of Bell Wine Cellars. I'll recommend BE3 Grape to Glass Tour to only wine connoisseurs who can listen about wines for more than one hour otherwise it will be dull. Victoria took great care of us with a wonderful table setting to taste Cabernet sauvignon clones 4, 6, 7 and 337. Valuing our time I feel a BE1 Current Release Tasting would have been better.
Our experience was informative and intimate. Our party had a lot of non wine drinking people and our experience at Bell made us feel welcomed!
If you're looking for a detour from the beaten path and escape from the larger crowds at the more seemingly popular wineries, Bell Wine is a smaller, absolutely lovely family-owned winery with delicious wine. It is well worth the visit. Go there.
Bell was the best winery we went to all week. We got a personal tour of the entire facility and a one-on-one tasting with the manager. The wine itself was great and we ended up joining the wine club on the spot.
My wife and I had a wonderful time here. Great wine, informative host, and a gorgeous setting.
The experience was very educational, not only about the winery but also the Napa Region.
I visited Bell in March and it was a much better experience. This time it felt as though we were an inconvenience during their bottling process.
We had a great time at Bell Wine Cellars and learned a lot about the different types of Cabernet vines and the wine making process. Delicious wine and a great ambiance.
Really liked the wine and cheese pairing. The wine was nice but per bottle is a bit expensive. I would go back, but I might stay longer and play bocce ball with a group of friends to make the most out of my time. Plus we bought a few bottles but they still did not comp the tasting fee unless you bought a case which is very expensive.
Tremendous atmosphere, intimate and great wines!
We were enchanted from start to finish. We were able to watch production as we sampled. Melanie was a great guide and genuinely knowledgeable about the history of the valley, winemaking, etc. HIGHLY RECOMMEND THE GRAPE TO GLASS TOUR! We are now wine club members as are our two friends.
Great tour and tasting. Staff was very knowledgeable.
The whole experience was great! There was only one other couple on the tour and our guide was personal and informative. We had a wonderful time, despite a bit of rain, and tasted excellent wines. It was a nice change of pace to tour a smaller winery and get to see the 'process' in action.
My husband & I have been to Bell years ago & enjoyed our experience so this year we brought 4 of our friends. When we arrived everyone was impressed w/ the property. What a great 1st impression! Then we were greeted by the friendly staff who took us out to the bocce courts to play while we tasted their fantastic wines. Needless to say we all had a blast & of course joined the club!!
Victoria was great and I learned quite a bit about the winery process. It also ended up as a private tasting with me and my sister so that was special. Can't wait to get our bottles delivered!!!
Did a tasting there and my hostess was very knowledgeable about the different a clones of Cabernet grapes as well as the wine making in general. Both myself and my wife learned something. The wines were of Excellent quality.
Great affordable wines in a nice setting.
We had the pleasure of a "Grape to Glass" tour this past Saturday. The tour was very educational and equally as enjoyable. Maggie did an outstanding job and the wines we tasted were fantastic! Loved it!
The grape to glass tour and tasting was an awesome experience from start to finish. Joe, our wine guide and enthusiast, was awesome. Very knowledgeable, interesting and fun. I'd highly recommend Bell Cellars and Joe!
Had an enjoyable wine experience with Maggie as usual! We brought my husband's brother and wife and they loved the whole thing. Maggie is both personable as well as knowledgable. A true asset for the winery.
The Bell setting is hard to beat. The grounds are beautiful and the staff are warm and welcoming.
We were looking for a detailed explanation of the process, not just tasting, didn't care about tasting. Same with the others in the group. Process explanations were cursory and details had to be pried out of the guide. We explained we didn't know tasting, but no effort was made to explain doing it. Different wines into the same glass can't be right. Guide seemed ready to go home.Big $ waste.
We were hoping to do our tasting in the reserved sitting room but also did not make a formal request. Everything else was great especially the wine. Only thing that could have made it even better is if the winemaker himself was there. Maybe next time
Victoria was our "Wine Ambassador" and was fantastic!!! The wines were yummy and the company was fun. Great experience!!
Incredibly educational, wonderful tour, answered all of my questions, personable, DELICIOUS wine. Could not recommend more, especially since it's so close to the hotel!
This is a small winery. We received a prompt greeting. We one of only two small groups present, so a quiet place. Nice wines.
We went to Bell Winery on recommendation from Local Wally. As first timer Napa visitors, Bell Winery was a nice starting point. Beautiful vineyards and Cellar that resembled a small castle. The Grape to Glass Tour was very enjoyable and we learned a good amount about wine. Especially on a perfect day, it is a great way to be initiated into the Napa atmosphere!
We had a great time at Bell Winery. We arrived a little early so they gave us the bocce ball equipment and we played for about 20 minutes. It was great! Once the tour started, we enjoyed every minute (and sip) of it. We look forward to returning (and receiving the wine we purchased)! Thanks Bell Winery!
We were excited to try their wines as they came recommended. It started slow and their greeter stated there was another group running late so gave us a glass to hold over. Unfortunately they were 30 min late with impacted our tasting and time learning about them and the wine as the greeter tried to go between both parties. The late party was rude and took most of the time. Worst experience.
This place is great. The tour and the environment are exactly what a Napa wine tasting should be: friendly, not unnecessarily pretentious, tastes of a few wines (not just 1 or 2), and a desire to help us find the right bottle(s) to buy.
I do not drink wine, but 1st time visit to the area thought this would be a good way to just learn a little about the wine making process and see the vineyards. We were offered some cheese. At the end of the session was told it was an additional (after the tour fee) $25ea for 4 tiny pieces of cheese. The Vineyard "tour" was 10 steps to look at 2 grapevines -- Disappointed.
This winery is amazing and the wines are outstanding! This is a "must visit"!! Loved it so much - we joined the Club!!
We had a great experience. Everyone loved all of the wines. The tour was perfect!
This was our favorite winery in Napa! Joe made the experience so enjoyable. His knowledge of winemaking and the history of napa was top notch! The Clone 6 is delicious!
We had a great time. Very courteous staff. We will definitely be back.
Exceptional experience. Eric was a great guide and Bell became our new favorite Winery and wines. Not to be missed. Highly recommended.
Excellent hospitality, friendly and warm staff, excellent wine. An outstanding experience.
Loved the experience with Maggie! Very personable, knowledgeable and fun. Great wine! I'll be back. Thanks, Maggie!
This was by far our favorite winery we visited (others were Cakebread, Sequoia, and Caldwell). When we first arrived we were warmly greeted and showed around with a tasty glass of wine. Our guide was knowledgeable and friendly and made the wine and cheese experience a lot of fun. We enjoyed seeing the vines and learning about the wine making process and aging process. Highly recommend.
