Event Details

Visit Beringer Vineyards for an all-access tour of the exquisite Rhine House stained glass. Listed with the National Register of Historic Places, the Rhine House is a 17-room mansion built by Frederick Beringer as a replica of the family home of his youth, located on the Rhine River in Germany. The Rhine House is a Napa Valley historical treasure and landmark.

The stained glass in the Rhine House originally built in 1884 is a marvelous collection of hand-crafted stain glass, and provides a true window into the life of Frederick Beringer when he commissioned the project in 1880s. In an era when mansions had one or two stained glass windows at most, the large collection of Victorian decorative glass in the Rhine House was rate.

The ornate panels are a combination of stained, painted, and enameled glass, each featuring hand-painted jeweled boarders and exquisite roundels that tie them together throughout the house. This is rare opportunity to experience the full splendor of the historic mansion. Typically the upstairs stained glass windows are only visible to VIP guests, but during this special tour, guests will see all 41 of the historic stained glass windows.

A seated tasting of Beringer fine wines is available at the conclusion of the tour for an additional fee.
