ABOUT THE CHEF
Being from Houston, Texas, Chef Misty Perry is no stranger to diverse restaurants and authentic cuisine. According to USA Today, Houston is known as the “dining-out capital of the United States. With a work ethic learned from her mother, Chef Misty Perry started working in the hospitality industry as a server/bartender in 1998 working for Pappas Restaurants. It was working for Pappas, that Chef Misty picked up the in’s and out’s of a fast-paced kitchen that takes great pride in what they serve. Chef Misty quickly knew that she was destined to remain in the industry. Misty began working for Perry’s as a server/bartender while attending culinary school at the Art Institutes of Houston. It was shortly after transitioning from school that she took a few years off from the restaurant scene to work in Iraq and Afghanistan as a contractor. She came back to work for Perry’s Restaurants in October of 2013 as a Sous Chef. Misty worked at the Memorial location in Houston, Texas for approximately 6 months and then began traveling to open new locations for Perry’s Restaurants and training staff members at the new locations. While opening the location in Frisco, Texas in November of 2014, Chef Misty was asked to relocate to Dallas and become the Executive Chef of the Uptown location for Perry’s Steakhouse and Grille.
