Event Information

Join us for a Progressive History Dinner at Buena Vista Winery!

General Public $130 per person. Buena Vista Wine Members: $115 per person, up to 4 guests.

This unique evening will be filled with delicious food and Buena Vista wines, set alongside an original three-act theatrical presentation: “An Uneasy Future: General Vallejo, Count Haraszthy, and Joaquin Murietta in Sonoma in 1852.” Each act will take place in a different location on the Buena Vista campus, with food and wine served at each location.

This original play, written by local Sonoma playwright George Webber, supposes that the famous Mexican bandit Joaquin Murietta is being hidden from Texas Ranger Harry Love by General Vallejo and the Count. Other members of the cast include Senator John C. Fremont and Ho Po, the Chinese labor organizer who provided the Count with his workmen in 1857. Historically fascinating with superior acting from local Sonoma actors, this dinner is the next step in winery-based “edutainment”.
