Napa Valley Olive Oil Co.

Local, family owned and operated manufacturer of some of the best olive oil I’ve ever tasted.  Their olive oil is a wonderfully balanced blend that has been a mainstay in my kitchen for nearly 20 years. I love walking to their rustic store in St. Helena on a sunny afternoon to peruse their vast assortment of Italian specialty foods, grab a bottle of oil and a stick of Molinari salami.

This iconic Pacific Northwest resort perched above the sacred Snoqualamie Falls will make you feel a million miles from anywhere, yet is just 30 minutes from Seattle.  The Salish Lodge & Spa with only 86 guest rooms is a fantastic destination for a winter escape. It also happens to be home to one of my all-time favorite spas. Their  soaking tubs are not to be missed! Book a Patio Room which come complete with an outdoor firepit and deep soaking tub.  After a full day of hiking and exploring, the Silver Fox and I like to order the in-room Manhattan kit and s’mores to enjoy by the fire as the soothing roar of the falls fill the crisp night air.

Alpino Vino Telluride, CO

Known for its stunning natural beauty, world-class skiing, and vibrant cultural scene Telluride Colorado offers up an unforgettable winter escape perfect for wine and food lovers like you.  Swoon worthy mountain lodges and magical snow covered peaks make for an ideal wintery backdrop for all your favorite activities.  Of course, Telluride is a renowned ski resort, however, it’s the magnificent culinary scene that will have you begging for more. 

From exquisite espresso drinks in the morning to upscale apres ski to over-the-top fine dining experiences, the culinary scene in Telluride does not disappoint.  However, nothing compares to the experience of Alpino Vino which I can best describe as French Laundry meets charming cabin in the snow with Northern Italian cuisine. When you arrive by private snow cat, you know this will be no ordinary dinner out!  

Carmel Valley Ranch

Nestled in picturesque rolling hills on the sunny side of the Monterey Peninsula, Carmel Valley Ranch offers a winter escape with upscale accommodations, spa facilities, outdoor activities, and gourmet dining amidst the picturesque California landscapes. Suites are well appointed with cozy comforts and boast outdoor soaking tubs, doubled sided fireplaces, and private patios. The regions mild winter weather sets the scene for a cozy night fireside sipping your favorite night cap. The resort's proximity to Carmel-by-the-Sea and the opportunities for wine tasting make for an indulgent winter retreat.
