Memorial Day weekend is upon us and you know what that means? The official kick off to summer and BBQ season.
I love ribs! The smokey, saucy goodness is hard to resist, but the best ribs we’ve ever had are those that are cooked in a sous vide water bath. The cooking technique ensures the most perfect, fall off the bone meat perfectly infused with your favorite seasonings. After ribs have “soaked” for 12 – 24 hours, finish them on the grill. I promise, this will become your go-to method for years to come. Pair these sweet & sticky delight with a bold and juicy red wine, like Scott Harvey InZINerator.
Is the summer bbq season really complete without at least one ooey gooey bacon cheeseburger? We didn’t think so and if you want to put your grilling skills to the test, The Red Rub Bacon Swiss Burger by Build a Better Burger finalist, Tyler Nordby is a real crowd pleaser. Pair this beast with Sutter Home Cabernet Sauvignon for a match made in burger paradise. Oh, and if your friends rave about your burgers, then you should definitely compete in the Sutter Home Build a Better Burger competition. You never know, you just might take home the $25,000 prize!
Elevate your grilling game with these elegant Grilled Oysters with Mango Salsa. These no-shuck beauties not only make an impressive display, but they are super easy to prepare. We like to serve them as an appetizer paired with crisp Honig Sauvignon Blanc.
Lamb is one of my go to red meats. For me, I am all about grass fed and free-range meats and if you’ve ventured down this path you probably have found 100% grass fed & finished beef can be expensive and challenging to find as most beef is either started or finished with grain. Lamb, however, is almost always 100% grass fed. I use lamb in a variety of ways from classic roasts, ground in pasta sauce or burger style. However, lamb chops have got to be my absolute favorite cut. This Greek inspired recipe for grilled lambchops will have you salivating from the succulent scents wafting from the grill. Enjoy these chops with a bright Pinot Noir, like Pence Estate Pinot Noir.
Book your visit to this week’s featured wineries to stock up on these BBQ wines to keep the party going all season long.
