Please join us for a special VIP tasting to commemorate the event that forever changed Napa Valley.
Celebrate the 40th anniversary of Judgement of Paris tasting! Our VIP experience will include tastings of six award-winning wines from vintners Dan Dexter and Lorin Brambila and their "Bottle Shock" artisan winemaker, Gustavo Brambila.
Who would you have chosen to be "The Best" in that now famous 1976 competition? Now is your chance to find out. We have asked Master of Wine and 40-year-veteran sommelier, Victor Orozco to choose and present Bordeaux Grand Cru to compete verses Gustavo's Cabernet Sauvignon. You will be the judge! Also, in a 2016 twist, Master of Wine Orozco will choose a Premium Argentinian Reserve Malbec to blind taste against the upstart Avinodos Malbec. Food pairings also included.
Did you know?
Gustavo spent about a year working at Chateau Montelena, one of the wineries that shocked the world in the 1976 “Judgment of Paris,” the competition that trumpeted the arrival of California wines on the world stage. The story of Chateau Montelena’s Chardonnay inspired the 2008 film “Bottle Shock,” in which Gustavo Brambila was portrayed by Freddy Rodriguez. While the film took some creative license, it accurately captured Gustavo’s passion and dedication to winemaking.
