Rustic and friendly, Saddleback Cellars takes its name from Saddleback Mountain, where owner and renowned winemaker Nils Venge, once rode horses. In 1978, Nils purchased 17 acres of prime Oakville land here in the heart of Napa Valley, and Saddleback became his passion project. Producing about 6000 cases a year, Nils' list includes limited-production unique varietals, such as Vermentino and Montepulciano, alongside award-winning Chardonnay and 90+ point Cabernet. Some around the Valley might tell you: Nils is famous for being the first American winemaker to merit a 100-point score from Robert Parker, and continues to cultivate wines with as much care and attention.
